Job Description

We are seeking a Claims Adjuster to evaluate complex property and casualty insurance claims and determine coverage, liability, and damages. The Claims Adjuster will investigate, analyze, and settle claims in a timely and cost-effective manner to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance while abiding by the Reservation of Rights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and investigate insurance claims and liability, and determine coverage and damages.
  • Adjusting claims in relation to construction, construction defect, builders risk, and commercial property.
  • Negotiate and settle claim settlements in a timely manner.
  • Provide effective communication to claimants, witnesses, attorneys, representatives, and other parties involved.
  • Document and maintain detailed claims records.
  • Prepare and review claims reports and documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Review contracts and policies to determine coverage, risk, and liability.
  • Review construction, property & casualty, and analyze site details.
  • Utilize paralegal, technical writing, and carrier insurance adjusting skills to review and process claims.
  • Review architecture and engineering claims to determine coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in claims adjusting.
  • Knowledge of construction and commercial property insurance policies.
  • Proficiency in communication and technical writing.
  • Ability to assess liability and damages and to negotiate settlements.
  • Excellent active listening, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Third Party Administrator (TPA) and/or Carrier Insurance Adjusting procedures.
