Job Description

Overview:

The Mobile Fleet Manager in the Atlanta area will be responsible for overseeing fleet operations across a larger geographic footprint, covering locations in Atlanta, Newnan, and Macon. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong mechanical background and prior fleet management experience. The ideal candidate is someone who can efficiently manage multiple locations and ensure smooth fleet operations while maintaining close customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Oversee and manage fleet operations across multiple locations, including Atlanta, Newnan, and Macon.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure all vehicles are in optimal working condition.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their fleet needs are met promptly and efficiently.
  • Minimize downtime by scheduling repairs and maintenance during off-peak hours and coordinating with mechanics and service providers.
  • Travel as needed within the coverage area, ensuring a strong presence at all locations, though overnight stays are rare.
  • Monitor fleet performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies across all operations.
  • Provide guidance and support to mechanics, helping them troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and perform timely repairs.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality service and competitive pricing for parts and repairs.

Travel Requirement:

Moderate travel required, primarily between Atlanta, Newnan, and Macon. Minimal overnight travel, with most travel being local or within a day's reach. The manager will be home every weekend except during peak periods where overflow needs arise.

Qualifications:

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

  • At least 5 years of fleet management experience , with a strong foundation in mechanics.
  • Proven experience managing teams or operations across multiple locations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Local travel expertise with the ability to manage a wide geographic footprint efficiently.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations, with a focus on compliance and operational excellence.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with team members, vendors, and management.
  • A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications in fleet management are a plus.
