Job Description

Position Description

The University of Washington's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Rehabilitation Psychology & Neuropsychology, is seeking a clinical psychologist for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank, on the Clinical Practice Track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW's Faculty Code Section 24-34 . Full-/part-time status is negotiable. Please be advised that part-time positions are not eligible for visa sponsorship or permanent residence sponsorship by the University of Washington.

The position is available beginning in Spring 2025; a specific start date is negotiable.

In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.

We offer a collaborative and multidisciplinary academic environment. Opportunities will be available for building an academic career that includes clinical activity, teaching, research, and program development.

Clinical duties will include delivery of rehabilitation psychology services (e.g., psychotherapy, consultation) both on inpatient and outpatient at University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC)-Northwest Campus, with possibility of working at Harborview Medical Center and/or UWMC-Montlake Campus as needed.

Outpatient services include brief interventions and psychoeducation, as well as longer-term therapy. The selected candidate will be expected to provide care for the many populations served by The Division of Rehabilitation Psychology & Neuropsychology, including patients with post-COVID symptoms and multiple sclerosis, as well as traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, burn injuries and brain tumors.

Opportunities are available for supervision of psychology predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees within our APA-accredited internship and fellowship programs, as well as lectures at the graduate/medical school level. Opportunities also are available for mentorship, career growth, and leadership. The individuals hired for this position will work with marginalized and culturally diverse communities holding a range of worldviews. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
